Happy New Year! We are busy bees after our wonderful, long, relaxing break. Fifth graders will be reviewing the lines and spaces of the treble clef...... then get ready! You will be hearing the lovely tones of recorder music wafting through the hallways!
Sixth graders are going to be doing a film study on the original "Wizard of Oz" starring Minnesota's own Judy Garland. Don't be surprised if your student comes home with lots of fun facts to share at the dinner table!
Seventh graders are now beginning one of my very favorite units: Music of the 1960's. They will learn about the great musicians of that time including: Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Simon and Garfunkel. This unit will culminate in a friendly "Family Feud" type competition between students and their families, so brush up on your music trivia!
Eighth graders are busy working on their wax museum speeches. Each student has chosen a person from history and will write a first person speech. These characters will then come to life in our wax museum (Date T.B.D.).......keep your eye out for your invitation!
